For Immediate Release: New Cleaning Options on Suspended Permanent Magnets
Posted On 8/19/2009 By Industrial Magnetics, Inc.
IMI offers several new cleaning options for their “manual
clean” line of Suspended Permanent Magnetic Separators
(SPMC’s) designed for separation of ferrous metal from a
variety of over-the-belt conveyor applications.
Manual Clean models require the operator to routinely
clean the magnet of collected tramp metal in order to
ensure maximum operating efficiency and to prevent any
collected metal from re-entering the product stream. The
following cleaning options are designed to assist the
operator in this process; Swiper Bar, Slider Plate, Hand
Crank Slider Plate and Air-Actuated Slider Plate.
Swiper Bar: Stainless Steel, L-shaped
bar which the operator pulls across the face of the magnet
to remove collected tramp metal.
Slider Plate: Stainless Steel, roller
guided slider plate that covers the face of the magnet
during operation and pulls out for easy removal of
collected metal when cleaning.
Hand Crank Slider Plate: Utilizes a
hand-crank, chain and sprocket for removing the stainless
steel slider plate from the face of the magnet when
cleaning.
Air-Actuated Slider Plate: Utilized
an air-actuated cylinder to remove the stainless steel
slider plate from the face of the magnet when cleaning
